What a simple question, in fact. Still, the readiness for a lifestyle change has so many facets.
Ready mentally? Ready socially? Ready emotionally? Ready physically? Ready spiritually? Each of these can have diverse levels of readiness…
And if you reach the desired level of one of them, how do you make sure that the others are high enough so that progress isn’t hindered?
It is clear that one can not last too long without the others. This is why we need to be aware and intentionally preserve what we have, where we are, and cultivate and enrich the other not-so-ready facets.
A person can have a gym membership and some friends to come with him, so he looks ready. But maybe he doesn’t feel enough motivation, or maybe he’s not physically healthy and well for effort, or maybe he’s emotionally drained or in a state of grief.
Every day, we start with a balance to maintain, and we do something about each facet of this frail equation.
What are your strategies to make sure that you’re ready for your goal?
